Behind the Numbers: Making Sense of Hemodynamics at the Bedside

Session Summary

Hemodynamics is more than just numbers. This session discusses integrating a physical perfusion focused assessment with different hemodynamic monitoring modalities including non-invasive, minimally invasive and invasive hemodynamic monitoring. Attendees implement what you learn through a VR simulation, advocating for the appropriate monitoring creating patient specific resuscitation decreasing the risk of hypoperfusion and fluid overload improving patient outcomes.

Objectives

  • Demonstrate integrating patient-specific resuscitation with hemodynamic monitoring data.
  • Apply an integrated nursing perfusion and hemodynamic assessment to guide clinical decisions at the bedside.
  • Design a plan to address patient specific perfusion resuscitation.
