Session Summary

A comprehensive ventilator-weaning program integrates respiratory-driven protocols, early mobility, inline speaking-valve trials, and structured interdisciplinary communication. This session reviews clinical practices shown to decrease time to liberation, reduce complications, and enhance overall weaning success through early identification of patient-specific barriers.

  • Discuss how protocolized mobility and speaking-valve trials contribute to reduced ventilator duration and improved outcomes.
  • Explain how coordinated interdisciplinary communication supports earlier barrier identification and more effective weaning.
