Session Summary

We all know about managing crashing patients, but what if your next step could do more harm than good? Patients with acute right heart failure pose unique challenges and often need specific treatments to prevent worsening. This presentation outlines resuscitation strategies for such patients and compares them to standard care for those without right ventricular issues.

Objectives

  • Identify common interventions or pharmacologic treatments that could be detrimental in the setting of acute right ventricular failure.
  • Formulate an appropriate treatment regimen for the patient with acute right ventricular pathology.
