Session Summary

This presentation reviews the current science of CPR and the role of CPR in cardiac resuscitation based on the AHA 2025 Guidelines. The updated CPR guidelines continue to stress the key components to improving survival rate: A correct compression rate; achieving complete chest wall recoil; providing a sufficient but specific depth of chest compressions; and avoiding the hemodynamic consequences of improper ventilation. Technologies supporting delivery of High Quality CPR will be explained.

  • Describe the critical components of high-quality CPR as outlined in the 2025 AHA Guidelines.
  • Identify ways to improve CPR quality in hospitals through use of CPR feedback technologies.
