Standardized Introduction of Tele-Critical Care Improves Patient and Family Understanding

Session Summary

Tele-Critical Care (TCC) RNs identified via a pre-survey that patients and family members have a lack knowledge of the TCC role in their care. A standardized script for patient and family education was developed, implemented and evaluated. Increased awareness of TCC improves patient and family comfort with camera use in the room. A 62% increase in positive responses by patients and families was found post intervention.
