Session Summary

Ultrasound can be used for much more than just placing a peripheral IV. Using ultrasound, you can recognize the early stages of a complication that keeps the patient safe with timely recognition to reduce the severity of the complication. Learn what phlebitis, infiltration and thrombosis looks like with the ultrasound.

  • Identify optimal PIVC tip orientation.
  • Learn how ultrasound can access for patency in questionable PIVC sites.
