Session Summary

Septic shock is often treated by raising blood pressure, watching CVP, and following lactate levels. While these numbers help early on, they do not tell the full story of what is happening in the body. Blood pressure may look normal, but organs may still not be getting what they need. This session shifts the focus from “fixing the numbers” to improving real tissue perfusion and recovery, helping clinicians recognize ongoing shock and guide smarter, physiology-based resuscitation.

Objectives

  • Identify clinical signs of endothelial and microcirculatory dysfunction in septic shock even if MAP, CVP, and O2 saturation look normal.
  • Interpret changes in lactate, tissue perfusion, and oxygen utilization to discern pressure correction from true physiological recovery.
Topics Hemodynamics, Sepsis
Population Adult
