Session Summary

The purpose of this session is to provide the unique opportunity to review relevant anatomy associated with critical care and life-saving emergency procedures. Participants enhance their understanding of the various procedures and the associated risks and benefits through a hands-on cadaver practicum. Review of the anatomy includes airway, chest cavity and pertinent vascular access landmarks. Under expert instruction, participants practice the following procedural skills including basic airway management, direct and video laryngoscopy, intraosseous access, vascular access using ultrasound and various other emergency procedures.

Objectives

  • Identify the relevant anatomy for the clinical procedures.
  • Select the appropriate vascular solution.
  • Participate in patient care scenarios with the available cadaver.
