Session Summary

This session is designed for nurses with foundational skills in 12 lead ECG interpretation. Bundle branch blocks are not easy to differentiate on the ECG. This session reviews how to identify right bundle branch block, left bundle branch block and fascicular blocks. Using case studies with 12 lead ECGs, participants have the opportunity to identify the different types of bundle branch blocks in order to help solidify knowledge gained during the session.

Objectives

  • Differentiate right bundle branch block from left bundle branch block on a 12 lead ECG.
  • Define the term bifascicular block.
  • List two common causes of right and left bundle branch block.
