Guided by Evidence 2026: Key Pediatric Studies You Need to Know

Session Summary

As critical care nurses, we know the value of evidence-based practice. And yet, the reality is we still see significant delays in the translation of research into practice. This session uses an interactive approach to provide attendees with a summary of recent pediatric studies on multiple issues relevant to their nursing practice. Using the audience-response system, participants rank their topics of interest; the facilitator then focuses the session on the top-ranked two or three topics.

Objectives

Summarize key findings of recent research studies that impact the care of acutely and critically ill pediatric patients.
Describe potential nursing practice implications arising from this body of evidence.
Discuss opportunities and challenges you may face when implementing this evidence into your own practice.
