Pediatric ICU
Dr. Patricia Hickey is Vice President and Associate Chief Nurse at Boston Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. She is known internationally for her work in leadership development, patient safety and bridging nursing practice and health policy. Her program of research examines the nursing and organizational factors associated with pediatric patient outcomes. She has disseminated cutting edge nursing knowledge in more than 100 publications and multiple presentations at national and international symposia. Internationally, Dr. Hickey is a long-standing senior volunteer consultant for Project HOPE and a founding board member of a non-profit organization for pediatric healthcare in Guatemala. Nationally, she is on the Education Committee of the Global Humanitarian Forum for Congenital Heart Surgery in Geneva, the Quality Metric Steering Committee for the American College of Cardiology and Transforming Care Delivery Committee for the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Hickey’s contributions have been recognized with several honors and awards including the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Circle of Excellence Award, Fellowship in the American Academy of Nursing, and the 2013 United States’ President’s Gold Volunteer Service Award.
