About Michelle

Michelle is a 1995 graduate of Georgia College State and University. She has been a Pediatric Critical Care Nurse for 23 years and is celebrating her 12th year as a CCRN. Her practice includes direct clinical practice, education, leadership and process improvement. She currently lives in Warner Robins, GA and works at the Children’s Hospital Navicent Health in Macon, GA, a three-time Magnet awarded facility for excellence in Nursing practice. Her current practice is in a 20 bed Pediatric Critical Care Services department and she serves on the transport team for Pediatric Critical Care transport services. Active with AACN since 2000. Michelle is the president of her local chapter of AACN since 2012. She received the National Teaching Institute Circle of Excellence Award in 2009. She received the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award in 2014. She has been a level IV clinical ladder recipient at her facility for the past 10 years. She has spoken at AACN NTI, regional and local venues on multiple topics such as Ultrasound IV’s, Simulation, and pertussis. She has spoken at multiple other venues on technology dependent children, common skin conditions and multiple other topics. She is a PALS, ENPC and BCLS instructor. Michelle has also participated in research with other team members and has one research project about to be published. She has presented two posters at a regional Evidence Based Practice conference. Michelle is dedicated to providing high quality, patient centered, evidence based care to her patients.
