About Deron

I have worked in ICU since my career began in 1999. I am currently employed at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital North. I have been a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) since 2001. AACN kind of pulls you in. I mean literally pulls you into the fold. I began volunteering with my local chapter, the OKC Area chapter of AACN, in 2011 after being asked to come to a meeting by an AACN Ambassador. Volunteering with AACN has helped to solidify my framework of what being a Professional Nurse is supposed to be. I have found that I am passionate about people, networking, building relationships, mentoring, engaging new nurses and loving what I do. One of my favorite parts about volunteering with AACN is promoting the value certification. I earned my CCRN in 2010 and my CSC in 2011. Since then, I have assisted with the planning and coordinating of the OKC Area chapter of AACN's annual two day CCRN/PCCN review courses from 2011-2019.
