Hands-on Critical Care Experience at the Expo
AACN is launching a high-energy Elevate Your Practice Experiential Learning Exposition inside the Critical Care Expo hall — a hands-on Advanced Critical Care Skills Lab where nurses actively perform lifesaving procedures using real equipment in realistic scenarios. Participants rotate through faculty-led procedural stations using anatomic models and tissue to practice skills such as:
- Airway management (direct and video laryngoscopy)
- Surgical airways
- Needle decompression
- Chest tube insertion
- Monitoring and stabilization interventions
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- ECMO
- Impella
Using experiential learning with anatomic models and animal tissue allows nurse learners to practice critical skills outside traditional settings. Anticipate complications, provide expert assistance and dramatically improve patient safety. Supported by Baxter, BD, Edgecare, Fresenius Medical Care, Johnson & Johnson, Medtech - Heart Recovery, Natus Medical, Teleflex, ZETO and ZOLL Medical Corporation.
