This article is describes how an interprofessional team created and implemented an algorithm to evaluate the safety and feasibility of using individualized interactive video game therapy in critically ill neurologic patients admitted during the observation period.

Objectives

  • Identify who may be appropriate to participate in video game therapy in the neuroscience critical care unit.
  • Identify barriers you may encounter with attempts to utilize video games in the NCCU and possible ways to overcome these barriers.
  • Utilize the algorithm for game selection to determine which video games may be appropriate for commonly seen neurologic impairments.
