Anticoagulants are commonly used in clinical practice for a variety of indications, including treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, prevention of acute ischemic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation, management of clotting disorders, and treatment of patients with heart valve replacement.
