It explains why a biopsy may be needed and how different imaging modalities, including CT, MRI, ultrasound and fluoroscopy, are used to obtain samples. It also reviews contraindications, patient considerations, nursing responsibilities and different biopsy methods, including aspiration, brush, fine-needle aspiration and core biopsy.
