Activity Summary
Sepsis protocol that included six tasks in sixty minutes was developed and education on was provided in a busy emergency department. This program resulted in reduction of the following: earlier sepsis recognition and sepsis alert called to antibiotic time decreased by 36%; sepsis order to blood cultures and IV fluids time decreased by 3% and orders to antibiotic administration time decreased 40%. This resulted in improved sepsis mortality.

- Increase understanding of how sepsis education and coordinated protocol can decrease sepsis recognition time.
- Improved sepsis bundle compliance through a coordinated sepsis protocol and grouped cares.
