Activity Summary
Practical tools for early recognition of sepsis, and deterioration in patients with sepsis as well as a communication tool to report those finding to the medical providers in a medical/ progressive care unit. This resulted in improved confidence; decreased LOS in patients with severe sepsis by 0.26 days and a reduction of 0.54 days in patients with septic shock. Additionally it decreased transfers to ICU and decreased both observed and expected sepsis mortality. It also increased teamwork and unit pride.
