Activity Summary

Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

Clinician burnout leading to turnover is currently occurring at record highs. Issues that drive burnout also diminish joy in the work for nurses. But, joy at work is more than just the absence of burnout and lack of wellness. It is important to understand factors that enhance joy to decrease the incidence of stress and burnout. Join this panel of past AACN presidents as they share their insights about what brings them joy in the workplace and share strategies that participants may implement.

Objectives

  • Discuss what finding joy at work means and the importance of it.
  • Identify unique impediments to finding joy in work within your unit/organization.
  • Apply strategies and tools shared during the panel discussion.
