Activity Summary

Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

With the expansion of informed consent treatment models and increased acceptance and visibility of gender diversity there is an increasing need for providers who are able to competently provide gender affirming services. However, most formal education curriculums do not provide the knowledge necessary for providers to obtain confidence in management of the gender diverse patient. This session provides foundational information on medical management of gender dysphoria. Pharmacology content = 50%.

Objectives

  • Define gender dysphoria and non-conformity and identify treatment models for management of gender dysphoria.
  • Identify therapeutic options for management of gender dysphoria and gender diverse patients.
  • List medications commonly prescribed for treatment/management of gender dysphoria and indications for use.
