The APRN is billing for his/her services and thus has gained the attention of regulatory bodies and insurance companies. As a result of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act 2015 (MACRA), Medicare reimbursement is continually changing. It is important to keep current on reimbursement issues and make sure that APRN billing practices are compliant with regulations in this dynamic healthcare environment especially in 2022 when the Physician Fee Schedule is being revised.

Objectives

  • Describe Medicare rules related to reimbursement for APRN services.
  • Discuss strategies regarding proper billing practices to protect your practice.
  • Articulate pertinent changes in the 2022 Physician Fee Schedule that apply to APRN practice.
