Hiring and onboarding of APRNs is often not standardized and can lead to variable success and retention. Through development of an accurate job description, an APRN interview process and individualized orientation method, this session provides the tools to create an advanced, competency-based foundation for APRN onboarding and growth. The learner sees examples of one large medical center’s journey to APRN excellence.

  • Summarize past, current, and future trends in APRN practice to align with the APRN consensus model.
  • Analyze your current process for hiring, onboarding and orienting an APRN into practice.
  • Design standardized tools regarding job descriptions, interview questions and individualized orientation process.
