Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

Only when nurses’ needs are adequately addressed are they able to help the patient and their families while keeping their nursing soul intact. The rate of burnout and moral distress is high among critical care nurses and a contributing factor to exiting the profession. This foundational session covers the essential knowledge, skills and behaviors (vitamins A through E) necessary for you to nourish and support yourself as a nurse and an individual to promote a long and successful career.

Objectives

  • Discuss challenges to the nursing soul as they relate to job satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify and analyze the critical vitamins (behaviors and skills) that help us thrive personally and professionally.
  • Devise a personal vitamin recipe for growth to assist you in making a change in your work or personal life.
