Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

Implementing chest x-ray (CXR) evaluation skills help the nurse easily assess changes in a patient’s condition, allowing for earlier and more effective interventions. Using the principles of black and white, CXR evaluation is made less intimidating and easy to understand. Examination of numerous CXRs enhances learning and reinforces the concepts for participants. In addition, case studies are presented to correlate assessments and treatment strategies of these cardiopulmonary conditions.

Objectives

  • Analyze correct placement of common invasive lines on chest radiographic.
  • Describe the black-and-white concepts utilized to analyze chest radiographs.
  • Correlate chest radiographic findings to clinical picture.
