Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

This is a foundational-level session geared for nurses and APRNs working in the acute care setting. The opioid crisis and flood of other drugs are at epidemic levels in many of our communities and we are caring for these patients in the acute care setting. Attendees learn more about this national challenge, including emerging drug trends and how these particular drugs are designed and why they are so popular.

Objectives

  • Identify which drugs are being used more widely and which drugs are used less frequently based on 2020 COVID-19 pandemic data.
  • Describe how new drugs are designed and why the designs of these drugs are so popular.
  • Discuss life-threatening dangers of these drugs.
