Appropriate staffing is a challenge nurse leaders face, and tools to overcome it are not readily available. Join this advanced beginner session to learn how to calculate the number of nurses you need and how to proactively predict turnover. This is an opportunity for leaders to learn creative solutions to improve their ability to determine hiring needs. We also share strategies to recruit, onboard and orient large numbers of nurses while improving quality of care and staff satisfaction.

  • Describe how appropriate staffing impacts retention, quality of care and the overall work environment.
  • Identify methods to develop a cost-effective proactive hiring model using historical data and effective recruitment strategies.
  • Evaluate methods to successfully duplicate this work across multiple departments and service lines.
