Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

Sometimes clearly evident and sometimes very insidious, rhabdomyolysis is a fairly uncommon pathophysiologic process. However, if not treated rapidly and appropriately it has significant untoward consequences for patients. This session provides the participant with background knowledge of the etiology and epidemiology of rhabdomyolysis, describes the pathophysiologic processes involved and provides insight into the steps required to optimize care for patients.

Objectives

  • Describe the etiology and epidemiology of rhabdomyolysis.
  • Discuss the pathology and diagnosis of rhabdomyolysis.
  • Explain care management strategies for patients experiencing rhabdomyolysis.
