Activity Summary

Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

We invite chapter leaders and members to learn how SePA, the local Philadelphia-area AACN chapter, has maintained consistent membership for 50 years while providing opportunities for leadership development, delivering consistent programming, and supporting research and scholarship. The session includes interactive discussion with audience members as well as panel discussion to share best practices, generate new ideas and identify opportunities for collaboration.

Objectives

  • Explain how the Southeastern Pennsylvania (SePA) chapter of AACN maintains membership and involvement of local nurses.
  • Describe the ways SePA provides educational and research-based programming for its members.
  • Integrate suggestions from other chapters of AACN for improving member engagement and programming.
