Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

APRN regulation promotes patient safety. Understanding regulation is crucial to APRN role implementation. In this session a panel representing regulation, education, certification and practice address key issues affecting APRN practice using a case study format. Topics include scope of practice, institutional credentialing, Consensus Model adoption, transition to practice requirements and collaborative practice models. There is opportunity for audience participation.

Objectives

  • Identify the current issues that impact APRN practice and regulation.
  • Discuss implications of regulation for licensure, certification and education of APRNs.
  • Describe regulatory issues related to APRN scope of practice.
