Activity Summary

Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

As AACN’s Practice Excellence Director, I often find myself saying, “When I was a unit leader, I wish I knew what I know now about AACN’s resources.” In this interactive session, we discuss and formulate ideas for how unit leaders, both formal and informal, can leverage AACN’s resources to develop a blueprint for unit excellence. Leaders leave with greater understanding of the multitude of AACN’s content and resources available at a fingertip, practical solutions for leveraging these resources, and as an added bonus connect with other leaders to exchange ideas and build your network.

Objectives

  • Identify the various content and resources available through AACN to support unit excellence.
  • Describe practical approaches with AACN resources to develop a blueprint to bolster unit excellence.
  • Determine 2 to 3 colleagues to build a network for ongoing support and collaboration regarding unit excellence.
