Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

We are all accustomed to care for heart failure patients, giving their medications and wishing them well. But they come back. We need to look at the cause of their heart failure. This presentation discusses the often-over-looked issues of heart failure and explorex the multiple etiologies of heart failure (including valvular issues and metabolic diseases) and the different treatment strategies (pharmacologic and procedural) now being utilized. The 2023 updated Heart Failure Guidelines are reviewed. This session is beneficial to anyone caring for these patients. Pharmacology content = 50%

  • Identify the etiologies and epidemiology of heart failure.
  • Differentiate the management of heart failure based on the type and cause.
