Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

With the ongoing shortage of ICU/PCU providers, ACNPs enhance the care delivery system, as well as the safety and quality of patient care. This session discusses solutions to billing challenges, reimbursement, state specific practice variances and institutional privileging. Successful critical and progressive care team models from a major health system are shared. Participant discussion, knowledge sharing and collaboration are welcome.

Objectives

  • Identify key care enhancement made by ACNPs in critical care provider teams from literature.
  • Discuss solutions to challenges regarding billing, reimbursement, state-specific practice variances and institutional privileges.
  • Describe successful ACNP-inclusive ICU/PCU provider team models with retention strategies specific to advanced practice.
