High-acuity nurses may feel uncertain when making career decisions and planning professional development. In this foundational session, attendees in early, mid or late career explore career options, both academic and nonacademic in nature. A forecast of future trends in the nursing job market can provide guidance. Attendees review 12 popular nursing roles, including educational requirements, salary and market demand. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers during the session.

  • Review the top 12 nursing role options and required education, expected income, employment trends and role activities for each.
  • Design academic and nonacademic career paths to fit health care trends, considering early, mid and late career options.
