Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

Close to 40% of trauma patients in North America are older than 65. This session discusses how nurses can optimize outcomes of this vulnerable population using evidence-based guidelines. The effect of home medications, increased bleeding risk, the impact of pre-existing comorbidities and frailty are covered. Nursing care of the most commonly seen injuries isdiscussed. A case study approach is utilized to explore the care of this population from admission to discharge.
