Patient acuity, rapidly evolving clinical challenges and a workforce entering the nursing profession after a unique educational experience throughout the COVID-19 pandemic have created a new perspective to consider when addressing the historic challenge of bridging the gaps of a multigenerational workforce. Despite these challenges, successful implementation of AACN’s six essential standards of a healthy work environment can foster a culture with high staff satisfaction and retention. Authentic leadership, true collaboration and meaningful recognition are necessary to create a healthy work environment for staff to thrive. The facilitators discuss creative application of the six essential standards that have had significant impact in creating and sustaining a healthy work environment for over a decade.Learners must complete the entire activity and the associated evaluation to be awarded contact hours AND read Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes. No partial credit will be awarded.
