Activity Summary

Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

Extended reality (XR) and the metaverse are new buzzwords in education. We may not all know what they are, though, or what types of educational activities can be created or are available for use in our educational systems. Then there’s the question of whether XR can be used to evaluate competency. These are some of the questions answered in this intermediate session. Live courses, immersive 360 degree videos and simulations are a few of the possibilities to engage students and create a dynamic and interactive learning opportunity.

Objectives

  • Describe extended reality technology and the metaverse.
  • Discuss decision-making in regard to selecting appropriate hardware and software.
  • Develop use cases for emerging technology in nursing education.
