Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes
This presentation simplifies drip titration and hemodynamics with endpoints such as stroke volume. Indirect indicators such as urine output and BP can be misleading. Case studies are the basis for discussion of vasoactive drips. Frequently-used drips as well as less commonly-used, but important infusions such as Methylene Blue and Angiotensen II are also be discussed. A best-evidence focus on blood flow rather than pressures is used, along with discussion on assessing patient response, trending and early signs. Drip titration for conditions such as hypotension and heart failure show patients do not decompensate suddenly; we only tend to recognize it suddenly.Learners must complete the entire activity and the associated evaluation AND read Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes. No partial credit will be awarded.
