This session uses a case-based, interactive approach to provide a comprehensive look at cardiovascular issues in children.Topics to be covered include congenital heart disease (CHD), transplantation, cardiomyopathy, myocarditis, heart failure and dysrhythmias. Innovations in CHD management, including the latest surgical strategies, are reviewed. Cardiomyopathy and cardiac transplantation outcomes are showcased, as are the latest developments in cardiac device therapy.

Objectives

  • Identify common congenital heart lesions and their treatment.
  • Describe the latest innovations in pediatric cardiac care, including surgical approaches, transcatheter interventions and device therapies.
  • Discuss recent advancements in care of patients with cardiomyopathy and cardiac transplantation.
