Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

This foundational session assists practicing nurses in identifying the signs and symptoms of anxiety, depression and substance use disorder in their professional practice. A variety of treatment options are explored along with employee assistance programs and advocate groups to destigmatize and encourage seeking treatment and resolution of identifiable etiologies.

Objectives

  • Identify the warning signs of anxiety, depression and substance use disorders in practicing nurses.
  • Explore treatment options available to successfully treat anxiety, depression, and substance use disorder in practicing nurses.
  • Articulate and benefits of restorative and supportive care for nurses experiencing anxiety, depression and substance use disorder.
