Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

Meaningful recognition is one of six essential standards from AACN’s Healthy Work Environment (HWE). Nurses must be recognized for the value they bring to the work environment and to the organization they are in. This session will discuss the unit-based QI project team’s experiences and methods on improving Meaningful Recognition and offers participants means in implementing standards of a Healthy Work Environment.

Objectives

  • Summarize the six standards of a Healthy Work Environment, including use of the AACN Healthy Work Environment Assessment Tool.
  • Apply methods used to improve meaningful recognition.
  • Evaluate lessons learned in the unit-based QI project’s experience in implementing HWE standard on “Meaningful Recognition”.
