Activity Summary

Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

APRN regulation promotes patient safety. Understanding regulation is crucial to APRN role implementation. In this session a panel discusses key foundational issues affecting APRN practice using a case study format. Topics include scope of practice and APRN Compact licensure. A decision-making tool for determining the alignment of specific interventions with the APRN’s scope of practice is introduced. There is opportunity for audience participation.

Objectives

Identify current issues which impact APRN practice and regulation.
Discuss the implications of regulation for licensure, certification and education of APRNS.
Describe regulatory issues, including Compact licensure, related to APRN scope of practice.
