Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

APRN regulation promotes patient safety. Understanding regulation is crucial to APRN role implementation. In this session a panel discusses key foundational issues affecting APRN practice using a case study format. Topics include scope of practice and APRN Compact licensure. A decision-making tool for determining the alignment of specific interventions with the APRN’s scope of practice is introduced. There is opportunity for audience participation.

Objectives

  • Identify current issues which impact APRN practice and regulation.
  • Discuss the implications of regulation for licensure, certification and education of APRNS.
  • Describe regulatory issues, including Compact licensure, related to APRN scope of practice.
