Activity Summary

Keeping multigenerational nurses engaged and excited for educational events can be a challenge. During the session, we review hands-on, innovative and interesting content and methodologies used to keep nurses engaged and interactive when hosting educational events. We discuss how to implement adult learning theory and utilize learning needs assessments. Education methods designed to retain and professionally develop existing unit-based nurses are reviewed, including Room of Doom, Rolling Refreshers, Escape Rooms and Skills Days. We also demonstrate an activity to exemplify these methods.
