Activity Summary

Recognizing the importance of cooperation to ICU work, we present a high-level summary of relationships between ICU layouts and nurse perceptions of teamwork. The findings of a recently funded AACN study in which researchers examine ICU layouts and nurse perceptions of teamwork, visibility and breaks are discussed. Researchers explore relationships between variables to provide insights to healthcare leaders, design professionals and the nursing profession to inform ICU design and operations.
