Critical care nurses are well acquainted with the realities of death and dying. However, it is postulated that critical care nurses have protected themselves from the emotional toll of professional grief through the creation of a metaphorical curtain of protection. In this session, we explore the concept of professional grief and offer strategies to assist nurses navigating grief in the workplace.
