Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes
Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage affects approximately 80,000 individuals in the United States annually and is associated with high morbidity and mortality. The 2024 AHA/ASA guidance recommends a bundled, protocol-driven approach that emphasizes rapid blood pressure management, anticoagulation reversal, and timely surgical evaluation. This narrative review synthesizes the evidence supporting these interventions and outlines nursing responsibilities essential to implementing standardized care. Critical care nurses play a central role in early recognition, neurologic assessment, and coordination of time‑sensitive treatments. Current evidence suggests that bundled care may improve outcomes; however, further research is needed to refine optimal targets and timing.Learners must complete the entire activity and the associated evaluation AND read Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes.
