Provided by the Association for Radiologic & Imaging Nursing (ARIN) and designed for the non-radiology nurse, this video offers an overview of diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology. It reviews CT, ultrasound, MRI and nuclear medicine, including how each modality is used, patient preparation, pre-exam considerations and safety concerns. Vascular and nonvascular interventional radiology are also discussed. Examples include biopsies, drain and tube placement, lumbar procedures, ablations, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, central venous access, cardiac interventions, inferior vena cava filter placement and removal, and venous sampling.
