Finding the COURAGE to Soar: A Chapter’s Journey to Creating a Healthy Work Environment

Activity Summary

This session shares one chapter’s journey to operational success due to applying the principles of a healthy work environment (HWE) to chapter management. Learn to have the COURAGE (chapter leadership succession, outreach in the community, utilization of talent, recognition of member accomplishments, acquisition of support, goal setting and engagement through membership) to soar through successful strategies to promote member engagement, including tips for succession planning, community outreach, member recognition, goal setting, webinar creation and finding resources. Lessons learned are discussed. Learn to utilize session worksheets to analyze chapter health and design big audacious goals to identify resources and changes needed.

Objectives

Demonstrate how HWEs are applicable to chapter organization and management.
Identify HWE principles to enhance leadership succession, recruitment, community outreach, goal setting and empowerment of members.
Create one big audacious goal during the session to design a blueprint towards creating a healthy work environment.
