Neurologic, Part 1 provides an in-depth review of neurologic assessment techniques, including standardized scales, diagnostic tests, intracranial pressure monitoring, an overview of death by neurologic criteria and vital sign evaluation. Nursing priorities and management for the patient with intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring include invasive ICP monitoring, ICP waveform analysis and setup, and maintenance and troubleshooting cerebral spinal fluid drains, including lumbar drains. Within each topic area, you will explore measures to ensure accuracy, troubleshoot monitoring issues, intervene for alterations and prevent complications.
